"Living Well Is The Best Revenge"

*George Herbert

English clergyman & metaphysical poet (1593 – 1633)

Someone recently, unjustly, put me through hell. The first, tempting and very human impulse, is the hate someone when they hurt you that deeply. The second impulse is to pity them, the last impulse is to ignore them. It takes a while to get from the temptation to hate to the sublime situation of ignoring them. As of this date they are still trying to manipulate people and situations for their own unjust advantage.

today I woke up and the sun is shinning bright, the day is almost Spring like and I realized that person is not worth losing one moment's peace over.

In the grand scheme of things, what they try to do for evil is only a stepping stone to the greater good. The misery of many years is now behind me and whatever schemes are devised to hurt me again just simply won't prosper and will only bring a temporary set back.

So do your worst, I'm in a good place now, standing in the sunlight with the joy returned to my soul. The winds may howl and the sleet may fall tomorrow but I don't have to stand out in it. I can keep this sunny day in my heart. I can hope and believe for a better day for the myself and the ones I love. I'm planning to live well, it's the best revenge.
